Ingredients

Basmati Rice – 2 cup

Bengal Gram – ½ cup

Onion – 1 (big)

Ginger & Garlic paste – 3 tbsp

Tomato – 1 number (chopped)

Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Green Chilly – 3 – 4 number

Coriander powder – ½ tsp

Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp

Cinnamon – ½ inch

Clove – 2 number

Star anise – 1 number

Cardamom -1 number

Black pepper – 6 corns

Bay Leaf – 1 number

Curd – ¼ cup

Salt – as per taste

Oil – 3 tbsp


Method to Prepare Chana Pulao Recipe / Chana Rice Recipe

1. Cook Bengal gram with required water in pressure cooker. When cooked pour it in a bowl and keep aside.

2. Take pressure cooker pour oil. When oil put cinnamon, cardamom, clove, bay leaf, star anise and pepper corns and saute well till it’s fragrant.

3. Add chopped onion and green chilly and saute well for few seconds till onions are soft.

4. Then add ginger & garlic paste and saute well till raw smell goes. Add chopped tomatoes and saute well till it’s soft and mushy.

5. Add coriander, turmeric powder and salt and saute well then add curd and saute well till oil appears on top. Add cooked Bengal gram to it and mix well. Add rice to it and saute well then add chopped coriander leaves.

6. Add 4.5 glass of water and close pressure cooker and cook for 5 – 6 whistles.

Serve hot
